EarthScope: August Earthquake in Iran

This was a reminder to me that the lines on our little seismograph station can sometimes mean lives.

On August 11, 2012 I saw this and wondered where the epicenter was…

Then later, I discovered that over 250 people were killed and thousands injured.

The magnitude of the quakes were “only” 6.3 and 6.2.

Some news agencies were blunt…Stating that no where else in the world would a 6M take so many lives…”Shoddy construction practices.”….Ouch.
